In U.S Android popularity dropped.

Android is still the ruler of the smartphone market in the United States. However, the second-quarter report shows decline in Android's market share significantly. This note is based on research conducted by Strategy Analytics smartphone shipments to conduct research during the second quarter of 2012. Even so, this report does not provide a detailed image of the overall market. According to data from Strategy Analytics, smartphone shipments in the U.S. dropped 5 percent per year to 24 million

units in the second quarter, with the largest decrease occurred in the Android smartphone. The causes of declining market share of Android is: "The condition of the faltering economy, established is the penetration of smartphones among cellular subscriber agreement and upgrade policy tightening in the major operators to improve profitability," writes Strategy Analytics. Android smartphone sales to the U.S. distribution channel decreased to 13.4 million units in the second quarter of this year, from 15.3 million units in the second quarter last year. Android market share of the U.S. also dropped to 56 percent from 61 percent last year Strategy Analytics added during the same period, Apple's market share rose to 33 percent, from 23 percent in the previous year. As Apple has an annual growth rate of 43 percent. Apple called the ship has approximately 7.9 million iPhones in the U.S. during the second quarter of this year. In comparison, 5.9 million iPhone units shipped in the second quarter of 2011. "Android remains the number one platform based on the number of sales in the United States, but its market share is approaching its peak and IOS Apple has managed to climb," said Neil Mawtson, analyst at Strategy Analytics, as reported by BGR technology page. Strategy Analytics also noted that the BlackBerry shipments dropped, up to 1.6 million units last quarter.
Compare with shipping 2.7 million units in the same quarter last year. In percentages, the BlackBerry only control 6.5 percent, down from 10.5 percent last year.
